Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home administers the nursing program in a nursing home in the absence of the Nursing Director. Oversees operations in order to maintain standards of patient care. As the Assistant DON, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our patients alongside our DON. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and providing exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective patient care
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a positive work environment and fostering professional growth
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure interdisciplinary communication
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other healthcare standards
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to maintain accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop strategic plans for nursing services
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in healthcare technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid state nursing license
- Proven experience in nurse management or leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, regulations, and best practices
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Experience in home health or assisted living settings is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in medical records management and documentation review
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
