Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home administers the nursing program in a nursing home in the absence of the Nursing Director. Oversees operations in order to maintain standards of patient care. Being a Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Assists in the establishment and implementation of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Additionally, Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Typically requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to the Nursing Director. Requires RN license. The Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Qualifications for Assistant Director of Nursing ADON:
Licensed RN in NH
Current CPR certification
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in nurse leadership role in a long-term care setting
Knowledge of Antibiotic Stewardship Program and Infection Control process
Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Responsibilities for Assistant Director of Nursing ADON:
Provide supervision to Nurse Supervisors
Promote a safe and high standard of nursing practice
Participate in continuous quality improvement programs
Participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies
Evaluate and maintain job performance records of nursing staff
Establish a positive work environment by providing support to staff, residents, and families
Perform administrative duties i.e., completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc.
Responsible for nursing service compliance with all Federal and State regulations
