  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Coordinator to join our team. Serving as the academic liaison between the public schools and the Diagnostic and Adolescent Shelter Program (DASP) at Cunningham Children’s Home, this role plays a pivotal part in coordinating and overseeing the education process. The Education Coordinator facilitates seamless communication and collaboration between Cunningham's DASP staff, public school staff, and students’ home districts to ensure the academic success and well-being of all students involved.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide behavioral and academic support to DASP students attending public schools.
    • Collaborate with DASP and public school staff on educational decisions.
    • Attend conferences and meetings related to student eligibility and Individualized Educational Programs.
    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of on-grounds schooling for student reintegration.
    • Manage administrative tasks including paperwork distribution, record keeping, and scheduling.
    • Supervise Teaching Assistants and support students' transitional needs.
    • Uphold agency core values and standards of conduct.
    • Participate in quality improvement activities and adhere to policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Education.
    • Possession of a valid Illinois Driver's License.
    • Proficient understanding of Public Education, Special Education, and Cunningham Children's Home policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated experience of one to three years in either a public school setting or residential setting, preferably within Special Education.
