JOB DESCRIPTION :

An Administrative Coordinator assists the department with clerical duties, including scheduling, follow-up, discharge resident appointments, coordinating resident transportation, and filing.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents concerning medical records duties in the Nursing Department.
• Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet facility and department needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Files completed chart forms on appropriate charts.
• Maintains the order of the medical record and their appearance.
• Assembles and prepares closed charts for final filing in the Medical Records Room.
• Copies Medical Records for Business Office on request for Third Party Payor.
• Answers phones when Nursing Staff is busy or absent from the desk.

REQUIREMENTSL

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Experience in health care and knowledge of medical terminology required
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Qualities of responsibility, diplomacy, and ability to work well with fellow staff members
• Cheerful and pleasant demeanor
• Respect for resident's privacy and rights, display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
• Self-motivated with flawless time and attendance
