Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within the home care specialty. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Must Haves:

    • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program and licensed to practice in the state
    • 3 years of nursing experience (home health/hospice preferred)
    • Staff License Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or License Vocational Nurse (LVN must possess and maintain a current CPR certification
    • Knowledge, ability, and the necessary skill and judgment to perform all nursing procedures as outlined in the scope of practice in the State’s Nurse Practice Act and under the direction of the registered nurse and physician orders
    • Staff License Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or License Vocational Nurse (LVN must have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
    • Available for work on weekends and holidays as required
    • Staff License Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or License Vocational Nurse (LVN) must be able to read, write, speak and understand English as needed in the job
    • Participate in in-service education programs as mandated by State law (this requirement need not be met exclusively through Right at Home sponsored in-services programs)

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT

    • Primarily works in client’s place of residence; travel may be require
    • Shift times and days vary with client needs.
