This position is responsible for coordinating environmental education programs and providing administrative and budgetary support for the Randolph County Soil and Water Conservation District office. Work includes developing, coordinating and delivering specialized environmental education and conservation programs in schools and the community, and provides administrative, clerical and budgetary support to the Soil and Water Division and the Randolph Soil and Water Conservation’s Board of Supervisors. The District is a source of advice, consultation, and planning for the public on natural resource issues and is not a regulatory agency. Independent action and initiative are required in order to successfully function in this position. Employee must possess exceptional organizational, leadership and communication skills. Work is performed under the general direction of the Soil and Water Board of Supervisors and Soil and Water Department Head.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate Degree in Education , Environmental Science, Natural Resources or a related field of study AND two years of work experience in soil and water conservation or environmental education programs OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Essential Functions:
There will be traveling between districts.
Provides training for new Soil and Water Environmental Educators and serves as a contact and resource for current Soil and Water Environmental Educators.
Assists with planning the Resource Conservation Workshop and serve on-site.
Assists with planning of the Annual Meeting including planning for the Education Banquet, Education Sessions, and Education Committee business.
Coordinates presenters for Education sessions at Conservation Employees Training.
Searches, applies, and secures additional funding for education programs.
Provides leadership role in planning the Area 3 and State Envirothon contests to promote and facilitate teams and activities.
Coordinates mobile Soils Classroom / Soil tent.
Participates in NC State Fair, Environmental Educators of NC and State FFA Convention.
Position may be closed at any time after a seven (7) day positing period.
