The Assistant Director of Health Services (ADHS) assists the Director of Health Services (DHS) in managing the department of health services (nursing). The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure. The position coordinates resource utilization, timely and appropriate care interventions, and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to center’s clinical systems and regulatory compliance for the center. The ADHS Duties is responsible for collecting, trending, analyzing, and reporting data and manages the nursing department in the absence of the DHS.
Education/Qualifications
Currently licensed as RN in the state in which the facility is located; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements including, but not limited to, OSHA and CMS
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Computer skills required. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products including word, power point and excel.

Experience
Required: Two years’ experience as a RN with 1-year nursing supervisory experience.

Oversees and evaluates systems for patient and staff data collection, information systems, and processes to support the practice of nursing and care delivery.
Oversees and evaluates systems for discharge planning and communication to be released with patient.
Facilitates and participates in occurrence investigation ensuring timely and accurate reporting to nursing administration.
Ensures staff competency for emergency response and clinical care delivery.
Oversees infection control practices within the facility. Ensures infection control standards and biohazard waste procedures are met by collecting, trending, and reporting data.
