Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be based on your training and experience. Some caregivers provide basic companionship and/or homemaker tasks, while other caregivers provide more extensive personal care. The following shows the range of services a caregiver may provide:
Companionship activities such as reading, games, music, puzzles
Preparing meals and snacks, according to instructions
Medication reminders
Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, changing bed linens,
cleaning the bathroom, etc.
Accompanying clients on errands or medical appointments
Bathing/showering/toileting/dressing
Assisting with prescribed active and passive range of motion exercises
Special assistance for Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s care
Qualifications and Skills:
High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
Must possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance and registration.
Must be able to infrequently lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Must pass a background check
CNA license, Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide certification is preferred.
