Sunnyside Care Center is actively looking for a Facilities Director to join our Maintenance team. As the Director of Maintenance you will be responsible to plan, organize, develop and supervise the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance department of an 80 bed facility. The Director of Facilities plays a key role in the overall success and operations of the facility.
The Director of Facilities will also assist in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, cleanliness and efficiency. Previous experience in a nursing home setting and/or as a Facilities Director is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all maintenance, housekeeping and laundry department operations and personnel. Including assignment of responsibilities and creation of schedules.
-Order and account for supplies needed for maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry and the upkeep of the facility
-Regular inspections of the facility for safety, upkeep, appearance and equipment performance.
- Schedule & ensure completion of all maintenance repairs.
- Provide oversight of maintenance/repairs and ensure contracted services are completed to facility standards and timely.
- Maintain appropriate records of all repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties and inspections.
- Must have knowledge of state and federal guidelines and regulations and ensure all work is completed in accordance with the State/Federal and OSHA standards.
- Must have the ability to be "on-call" for emergency situations.
- Any other duties as instructed by the administrator of designee.
Qualifications
- One year of demonstrated successful management experience in a health care facility
- Must possess basic knowledge in building and equipment maintenance and related areas
-Good physical and mental health and evidence of maturity
- Must have skills in working cooperatively with other professionals and have the ability to organize and carry out responsibilities efficiently and effectively
- Must have patience and tact, and ability to interact with residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a wide variety of circumstances, both verbally and in writing
