Nursing Services Instructor is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within an assigned area of responsibility. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Services Instructor ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Services Instructor requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Services Instructor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. MAJOR PURPOSE :
Reporting to the DNS, the ADNS will direct the routine functioning of the nursing staff by assuring the overall supervision of all nursing personnel concerned with resident care and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse licensed in NY
Preferred: 3 years' experience in a skilled nursing facility and 2 years nurse management preferred
Required: Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility in a Managerial or Supervisory capacity with an understanding of LTC Rules & Regs
Required: Infection Control Certification
Wound Care Certification is a Plus
CPR certified.
Has background in and understanding of Medicare guidelines
