Nursing Services Instructor is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within an assigned area of responsibility. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Services Instructor ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Services Instructor requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Services Instructor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Pre-Op Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgery.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide preoperative care to patients in a surgical setting, including assessment, care planning, and preparation for surgery
    • Assess patients' health status, medical history, and medication use, and develop individualized care plans
    • Prepare patients for surgery, including obtaining informed consent, administering preoperative medications, and answering questions and concerns
    • Monitor patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition before, during, and after surgery
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient care
    • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to coordinate care
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
    • 1 years of experience as an RN, with experience in a preoperative setting preferred
    • Knowledge of preoperative nursing principles and practices
    • Strong assessment and care planning skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
