Nursing Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel in patient care units. Participates in planning work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Being a Nursing Supervisor ensures that patients' needs are met and evaluates unit nursing care and performance. Monitors patient recordkeeping activities for accuracy, completion and compliance with all regulations. Additionally, Nursing Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree of nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification as a registered nurse (RN). The Nursing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nursing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Coordinate the nursing operations of the comprehensive system by performing the following duties.

    SCOPE OF WORK

    The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific job duties does not exclude them from the position.

    1. Assist Medical Manager and Medical Director in the overall operation of the medication station.

    2. Direct daily nursing operations within the Opioid treatment facility.

    3. Observe client physical and mental health status for appropriate referrals.

    4. Provide necessary Opioid treatment health education.

    5. Assure Opioid clients receive medical exams and evaluation procedures.

    6. Transcribe physician’s orders.

    7. Communicate with other medical personnel in case of emergencies.

    8. Maintain Opioid supplies and equipment.

    9. Coordinate client Medicaid reviews.

    10. Submit reports as required.

    11. Participate in clinical staffings and team meetings.

    12. Maintain quality assurance and licensure standards for medical charts.

    13. Coordinate meeting with program and agency nurses to review nursing issues.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • 1-5 People

    Primary consultant for staff nurses. Assists in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Agency's policies and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing input for performance appraisal; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS **

    • Bachelors Degree/ Vocational Training

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS * *

    • LPN

    RELATED EXPERIENCE * *

    • Two to Four Years

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES **

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and staff. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to perform CPR and other First Aid procedures.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS **

    Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color peripheral and the ability to adjust focus.

    Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
