Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Our company is seeking a Registered Dietitian for long term care nursing facility in Deltona, Florida area.
Registered Dietitian Summary of Job Duties:
- Assess and monitors the Resident’s nutritional status, provide recommendations to medical staff, and develop adequate care plans.
- Evaluate the special needs of Residents regarding nutrition support, skin breakdown, and significant weight loss.
- Partner with the interdisciplinary team to review and adjust resident’s care plans.
- Work closely with Speech Pathologists to ensure appropriate mechanically altered diets are provided for residents with dysphagia.
- Perform other job-related duties as they become required.
Registered Dietitian Qualification:
- One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a Long-Term Care setting preferred.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Nutrition or Dietetics as well as the completion of the accredited Dietetic Internship program.
- General clinical knowledge, knowledge of nutritional supplements and knowledge of therapeutic diets.
- Sufficient understanding of Windows-based computer applications to learn and the ability to use electronic medical records.
