Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Nutrition & Health Center is searching for a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (part-time) for the office in Elizabeth, NJ and Paramus, NJ.
Responsibilities:
Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals;
Evaluate, interpret, monitor, and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines;
Identify and provide age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families;
Create notes, and keep proper charts of patient's visits and progress using EMR systems;
Utilize clinical software programs to facilitate nutrition therapy (FFQ Nutritionist Pro, bioimpedance body composition test, resting metabolic rate test, etc.);
Provide the information for each patient to perform necessary coding, billing, and EMR services;
Scheduling and attending meetings out of the office, if necessary;
Coordinate with local healthcare providers;
Maintain RDN status and current credentials with medical insurance companies, and have valid personal malpractice insurance;
Any other tasks and responsibilities the Employer deems appropriate and which are consistent with the RD position within this office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree;
RDN license/certificate;
NPI number, active CAQH number;
Updated credentials with NJ major medical insurance companies are a must;
Spanish is a must.
Fluency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.
