Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee the pharmacy operations in our health center. As the Director of Pharmacy, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, managing the pharmacy staff, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Duties:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
- Oversee medication procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement medication therapy management protocols
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including patient assessment, medication reconciliation, and drug therapy monitoring
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide drug information to healthcare team members
- Manage the pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance in pharmacy operations
- Stay updated on the latest developments in clinical pharmacy practice and incorporate evidence-based guidelines into practice
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree strongly preferred
- Current pharmacist license in the state of Texas practice
- CPR Certified
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an FQHC or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice and pharmacotherapy principles
- Familiarity with 340B Pharmacy program strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals from various disciplines
