Position Summary: To conduct intake and provide information services to the general public concerning housing programs and community resources. To ensure that units on the Section 8 Program meet Housing Quality Standards. To provide information and referral services to the public through telephone and office contact.

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for obtaining program guidelines and program information and distributing to public.
• Function as occupancy specialist with knowledge of intake and certification/briefing procedures and client eligibility.
• Work in conjunction with other programs and agencies.
• Function as receptionist and clerical assistant.
• Assist in processing recertifications as necessary - maintain accurate client records consistent with program guidelines
• Assist in the preparation of applications, reports, landlord checks, and computer data entry.
• Maintain appropriate relations between tenants and landlords in the areas of program regulations and responsibilities of participation.
• Schedule and perform initial, annual, and special inspections/re-inspections.
• Maintain inspection log.
• Notify landlords and tenants of inspection results.
• Establish and maintain Rent Reasonableness Log
• Assist with Briefing Sessions.
• Performs any other related duties as requested by supervisor.
• The company vehicle must be clean at all times. If it needs washed then wash it at the office or request petty cash to go to the car wash. This means clean on the inside and out.
• Schedule maintenance as needed on the company vehicle.

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirement.

Experience:

• Sensitive to the needs of low-income, elderly, and handicapped individuals.
• Clerical and receptionist skills. Must be computer literate
• Valid Ohio driver's license, insurability on agency policy and dependable personal transportation required.
• Subject to criminal background check, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing and MVR.
