One of Related's?fast paced affordable?housing apartment complexes in Far Rockaway, NY, (Project Based Section 8 and LIHTC), totaling 364?units, is seeking a Recertification/Occupancy Specialist?to join their team.?

As a Recertification/Occupancy Specialist at Related Management Company (RMC), you’ll get to use your organizational skills and experience to provide the preeminent affordable housing accommodations in your community. Essential Functions:

• Interview and process applications for new move-ins and lease-ups according to affordable program guidelines.
• Process certifications (including initial, interim, and annual); calculate retroactive rent while conforming to all applicable guidelines.
• Collect necessary documentation from current or prospective residents, and process verifications.
• Maintain accurate wait and transfer lists; review applicant files to determine eligibility.
• Facilitate renewal and recertification process for all residents.
• Apply correct rents for annual and interim recertification; adjust to remain compliant.
• Participate in marketing, leasing, and resident move-in experiences, including partnering with maintenance to ensure unit turn for move in.
• Prepare all required agency reporting to standard.
• Maintain leasing and marketing reports as needed.
• Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

Compensation:

• $22.12 - $24.04 / hour 
• $1000.00 sign on bonus

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with HUD Project Based Section 8, LIHTC (tax credit), and/or other affordable housing programs preferred.
• COS/TCS/BOS credentials, or willing to attain within six months of employment; training is provided.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
• Notary public is preferred for Recertification/Occupancy Specialist 

Work Environment: This in-person role is based at Gateways Apartments in Far Rockaway, NY.
