Occupational Therapist
Description: The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides therapeutic group programming on adult and adolescent psychiatric inpatient units on health and wellness topics, sensory modalities, stress management, independent living skills, ADLs, relationship issues, and other psychoeducational material as needed. The OT also provides individual evaluation reports and consultation to the unit treatment teams related to discharge planning and development of aftercare plans by assessing needs for outpatient supports, equipment, or other resources. The OT also provides education, training, and support for unit staff in the use of sensory de-escalation tools and manages and maintains sensory rooms and supplies for the hospital, in partnership with a second occupational therapist.

Qualifications: Must be a graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Must have certification and licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Qualifications: Candidates are expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures specific to occupational therapy and have experience with psychiatric inpatient treatment, mental health/substance abuse and adult and adolescent populations, sensory modulation, and independent living skills evaluation.
