Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home jobs in Rochester, NY

Pay Rate: $44.48 - Per Diem position

GENERAL SCOPE: Plans for and provides Occupational Therapy (O.T.) Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as may be directed by the Director to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times in accordance with the mission of the JHR.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Minimum of B. S. Degree in O.T. from an accredited college or university. National certification by NBCOT preferred. Must possess a current New York State Occupational Therapy license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interprets O.T.'s policies and procedures in relationship to other patient care services for administrator, residents, personnel, family members and pertinent others.
• Periodically reviews O.T's policies and procedures.
• Participates in the selection and evaluation of personnel.
• Delegates responsibilities and supervises COTA’s and Rehab Aide in the O.T.
• Completes medical forms, reports, evaluation studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
• Serves as a consultant to Nursing to assist them in the completion of MDS Forms.
• Attends and participates in workshops and seminars to remain current and maintain professional status.
• All other job duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility preferred. Must possess a current, New York State Occupational Therapist license.
