Job Summary
Provides treatment for patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Implements an established treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
- Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to registered occupational therapist.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
- Oversees the care provided by therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations, and OT practice standards.
- Supervises OTA students completing clinical rotations.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Assistant required upon hire
- No experience required
- OTA - Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
