Invio Automation’s Technologies division includes highly differentiated Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for heavyweight applications, turnkey assembly lines, welding automation, and custom lift-assist & secure tools for safety critical applications.
The 2nd Shift Lead is a key member of the team responsible for leading all operations on the off shift. The ideal candidate will possess a continuous improvement mindset and have a passion for improving operation standards and process flow. The individual must possess a sound technical background, have a strong desire to develop talent, and be capable of managing multiple priorities and departments. This is a “working lead” position, meaning the expectation is to actively contribute value added labor to direct projects and can lead and support new team members excelling their growth within the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by cross-training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Work closely with subordinates & executive staff to develop and execute the company’s Strategic Initiatives
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by reinforcing the importance of a 6S culture and actively supporting Invio Automation’s safety committee and training.
- Always demonstrates professionalism.
- Exhibits proactive behavior, taking initiative, seeking continuous improvement.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, and customers both orally and written.
- Mechanically assemble various tools and special machines
- Troubleshoot new and existing tool systems.
- Provide directions to team members when problems or questions arise.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- To meet and exceed quality standards of our customers, working weekends and overtime is required based upon business needs.
- Collect weekly production/capacity planning data and submit to Operations Supervisor
- Own ShopSync worklog's in departments (Kiosk stations) to ensure proper scanning and updates as needed.
- Work with Operations Supervisor to identify and remove roadblocks.
- Rebalance workload and capacity based on the needs of each day.
- Maintains synergy among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Must own tools required to perform job duties.

- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve existing processes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical controls drawings.
- Basic understanding of machining tools and common machining practices
- Basic understanding of welding practices
- Basic working knowledge and fundamentals of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Programs)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.
- Must be knowledgeable of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
High School diploma or GED equivalent. Also requires at least three years of operations or engineering management, leadership, and custom tooling experience. High School diploma or an Associate’s degree from an accredited community college or vocational school Job related experience and/or training will be considered in lieu of post-secondary education.
