Summary: Responsible for testing of electrical motor control and drive systems using 480V - 3 phase systems with ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and mechanical installation.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Tests electrical drives following written test procedures.*
2. Troubleshoots electrical failures diagnosed during testing and develops solutions using knowledge and experience of industrial electricity, power distribution, motor controls etc.*
3. Reads and interprets drawings, machine documentation, and manufacturing specifications for troubleshooting.*
4. Develops a comprehensive knowledge of the various electrical devices used on manufacturing equipment to include PLC'S, AC/DC drives, motor controllers, positioning devices, motion control systems, network systems, user interfaces and related machine controls.*
5. Develops and writes new test procedures.*
6. Builds and improves test systems and equipment.*
7. Maintains a safe work environment and uses all tools provided in a safe manner following procedures and safety policies.*
8. Reads and understands electrical and mechanical diagrams and drawings.*
9. Communicates both written and verbally with other departments, customers, and vendors.*
10. Adheres to all safety procedures and PPE required gear.*
11. Utilizes electrical meters, calibrations devices and other electrical monitoring and troubleshooting tools.*
12. Manages time and works independently with minimum supervision to accomplish goals.*
13. Uses knowledge of PLC programming with products such as ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley, SEW, Lenze, Mitsubishi, Emerson, B&R and others when needed.*
14. Uses Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.*
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
