Duties:
- Provide direct support to clients in their homes, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by supervisors to meet the specific needs of each client
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition or behavior to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure clients take their prescribed medications as directed
- Promote and uphold resident rights, ensuring dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments, errands, or social outings
Skills:
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of home care systems and procedures
- Familiarity with direct support techniques and practices
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and ability to assist clients accordingly
- Knowledge of resident rights and ability to advocate for clients' needs
- Experience in dementia care is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- First aid certification is desirable
