Payroll Services Manager
Jefferson County is accepting applications for the position of Payroll Services Manager. The Payroll Services Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the County’s payroll and benefits division in the Auditor’s Office. This position directs, manages, and coordinates the countywide payroll and personnel benefits processes and systems; ensures compliance with State and federal requirements; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the County Auditor.
Minimum Qualifications: Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the , please see attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with emphasis in accounting or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in payroll and personnel practices, including one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience; or nine (9) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must successfully obtain and maintain the Certified Payroll Professional designation.
Hours & Compensation: Full time, Grade 18, FLSA exempt position, with full benefits starting at $6,192.50 to $8,079.82 monthly, DOQ. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. 11 paid holidays, PTO, and bereavement leave. Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch. The 2024 pay range is $6,969.72 to $8,322.21 monthly. May include evening or weekend hours.
