Office Services Professional performs and oversees various administrative functions and processes and acts as the organization's point person for outside vendors and service providers. Plans and coordinates office-wide facilities maintenance, space planning, moves, equipment installations, and other events or projects with internal and external stakeholders. Being an Office Services Professional monitors inventory and places orders for office equipment, supplies, or provisions. Manages or administers accounting processes including budgeting, invoice processing, employee expense reports, reimbursements, petty cash, and time tracking. Additionally, Office Services Professional may support HR activities or initiatives with employee onboarding and interview coordination, and training. Performs company database or system administration tasks, including data input, reporting, user support, and upgrades. Resolves day-to-day problems and coordinates with stakeholders to obtain solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Office Services Professional work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The Specimen Technician is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Functions performed may include but are not limited to A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting. 
    • All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. 
    • Job is complex and requires that employee have good organization skills and is able to learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by client. 
    • Department is a production environment, with emphasis on productivity/quality standards and departmental completion times.
    • The SPT I must have to the ability learn and understand the compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. 
    • This position is critical to quality for customer satisfaction. 
    • Additionally, since many changes do occur from day to day, great flexibility on the part of the SPT I is required. 
    • The SPT I will be exposed to many different demands made by the customer. 


    Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent – Required
    • Data entry background – Required 
    • Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour. – Required 
    • Basic understanding of computers with a preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing. 
    • Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits. 
    • Previous laboratory experience preferred. – Preferred 
    • Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.  – Preferred 
    • Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required. 
    • Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
    • Able to sit or stand for long periods. 
    • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff. 
    • Adheres to core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures.
    •  Keeps work area neat and clean. 
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
    • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to adapt to change.


    Job Details:

    • Schedule: M – F 9:00 am – 6:00 pm 
    • Starting at $17/hr. (Based on experience) 
    • Majority of SPT I work on the nightshift but based on staffing needs, weekends, holidays, on call and overtime availability is a requirement.
