Department Overview
Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers.
Position Summary
The Gas Qualification leadership team manages the technical requalification of all gas employees through a team of specialists. Technical requalification includes plastic fusion, weld qualifications, oversight of the Operator Qualifications (OQ) program, leaks, and measurement control with an emphasis on valves, regulation and corrosion. The leadership team works closely with the Gas Operations lines of business to ensure a high quality evaluation/qualification program is provided and that it is properly administered. Responsibilities also include monitoring, reporting and trending of qualification results and continuously seeking improvement opportunities. The leadership team ensures that safety is a priority and that all meet all safety requirements. They contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles. This position requires at least 60% travel.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000
