Role
Supervise crew in Right of Way (ROW) maintenance including tree and brush removal, row reclamation, row mowing, side trimming, land clearing, vegetation maintenance and control in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Summary
Emphasis on supervising equipment operators and grounds crews to meet the overall safety and production of ROW projects. Managing crews to deliver a quality product efficiently and in a safe manner. Assure all work order needs are met in a safe, timely and efficient manner and with quality results. Plans and communicates the daily workload, directing the team on a daily/weekly basis to deliver the services that exceed customer’s expectations. Must have strong ability to lead team, instruct/train/mentor team members and promote and manage safe work practices. Emphasis on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, zero lost-time incidents and equipment upkeep as key initiatives.
Job Requirements

- Oversee team members in meeting objectives as defined by District Operations Manager.
- Promote and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and appropriate management of employee behavior.
- Develop itemized work schedules in an effort to streamline team productivity and meet goals.
- Promote Arbor Pro’s Safety Program while working with the Safety Department to update / establish strong relationships.
- Lead pre-shift Safety Tailgate Meetings in an inclusive and effective manner.
- Manage daily, weekly equipment Pre-Trip checklists to assure full compliance to company needs.
- Maintains accurate records, timesheets and reports.
- Controls crew expenses to meet budget objectives.
- Conducts training on equipment and processes. Defines training needs for crew.
- Assists in composing and conducting performance reviews for crew on schedule.
- Assist in setting policies and procedures that assure peak operational efficiency of the department.
- Manage the process of controlling inventories/materials for department needs.
- Monitor equipment and process effectiveness while promoting Stop Work Authority with staff.
- Use professionalism to project the Arbor Pro of Virginia image at all times both internally with staff and externally with clients.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Preferred minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in field supervision – tree, landscaping, construction, pipeline, etc. or related work experience.
LICENSE / TRAINING
- Possession of, or ability to obtain a current CPR / AED certificate
- Possession of, or ability to obtain a Virginia driver’s license
- CDL a plus
- Valid OSHA 30-hour General Industry Card or ability to complete course.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays and extended numbers of days.
- Project territory covers Mid-Atlantic region requiring weekly overnight travel.
- Knowledge of operational characteristics of multi-staff production management. Must be task oriented and able to manage multiple situations efficiently.
- Exhibit superior supervisory practices at all times – day and night.
- Must be capable of managing self and projecting positive image when dealing with high pressure situations.
- Knowledge of OSHA, safety regulations, relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must have working knowledge of smart phones and basic computer skills.
- Must communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing. Spanish as a second language a plus.
- MUST be drug free and pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy required by DOT regulations
