Job Summary:
We are building a roster of reliable staff to provide photography of household items and/or assist with the auction pickup and estate sale from clients' premises.
Duties:
Photographers do not need to be professional photographers but must be able to set up "lots" and take decent photos from multiple angles using a good quality smart phone, catalog them, upload to our website, transpose the descriptions and set starting bids. The local Project Manager will provide advance notice when we sign on a new client and send an email to our roster asking who is available for the scheduled dates. Those that reply first will be allocated to the different aspects of each project.
Photography will typically be done during the week, starting in the morning and work until the project is finished, typically 5-8 hour sessions. For estate sales/pickup, you will typically meet on a Saturday or Sunday at the premises at 9 AM, post "lot tags" on sold and unsold items and escort auction buyers and the public to their items once the doors open at 10. Typically, this will be 4 hours.
Requirements:
- You must have a decent quality smart phone
- You must be mobile to be able to travel within a 1 hour or so radius
- Photography experience is an asset but not a requirement
- Knowledge of a variety of household items, vintage and antiques is an asset but not a requirement
- You must be able to work in a fast paced environment while also providing quality results
- You must be able to take direction and follow instructions well
- Those working the estate sale must be comfortable negotiating prices with the public
- You must have excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Starting pay is $15/hr for the first 3 projects so we can both evaluate each other. If you like us and we like you, the rate jumps to $18/hr. You must be able to provide a clear criminal background check as we are taking you into the homes of senior citizens. Shifts will come up as we get confirmed projects.
