Being an Online Pharmacist does not typically interact with customers. May supervise technicians and oversee operational activities including data entry, order fulfillment, and shipping. Additionally, Online Pharmacist requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. Requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Pharmacy Services and according to State and Federal Rules and Regulations, oversees distributive functions during their shift, ensures that the pharmaceutical needs of patients and residents are met through: patient drug profile monitoring to detect interactions and dosing irregularities; medical staff assistance with formulary control; IV admixture preparation, including TPN's and chemotherapy.
Also may assist the Chief of Pharmacy in developing community outreach programs for the advancement of a continuum of care which promotes a healthier patient population.
The Staff Pharmacist is required to prepare or dispense medications for patients of all age and developmental levels. The Staff Pharmacist must be aware of the physical, pharmacologic, and psychological/emotional needs of patients of all age groups and adjust teaching, instructions and dosages accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy, leading to BS in Pharmacy or PharmD. Must be licensed in the State of California. At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Will be required to work at least one weekend shift per month.
