Position Overview
The Operating Room Clerical Coordinator functions as a member of the Surgical Services team by performing clerical, receptionist, computer data processing and surgical scheduling activities as required to ensure efficient operation of Surgical Services. 

Education
High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience
Graduate of Medical Assistant or Unit Coordinator course, or similar training program. Must have computer, word processing or spread sheet experience. Must demonstrate a 30 wpm word processing skill. Previous experience in healthcare field desirable.Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.

Must be mentally alert, able to organize work, and set priorities. Must be able to speak clearly and write legibly. Must be able to work under stress in a quick and accurate manner. Must have A working knowledge of nursing policies and procedures. Must be mentally alert, able to organize work and set priorities. Physical Demands
Stands, turns, bends, stoops, lifts, climbs, and uses many physical motions in performing day-to-day activities. Must be able to do a great deal of walking without experiencing undue fatigue. May be exposed to communicable disease or radiation.
