Operating Room Services Director jobs in Saint Petersburg, FL
Operating Room Services Director oversees the daily operations of the surgery department. Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees, and budgeting. Being an Operating Room Services Director may oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients. May require a master's degree in a related area. Additionally, Operating Room Services Director typically reports to an executive. The Operating Room Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Operating Room Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Description
As an operating room tech (ORT), you'll help with surgical operations before, during and/or after the procedure. Working in the operating room of a hospital or outpatient surgery center, you may have duties that include prepping the OR, surgical tools, and equipment, helping nurses and surgeons scrub in, keeping up with equipment during surgery, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting with tools during surgery, cleaning the OR after surgery, and transporting patients to and from surgery. You'll play a critical role in preventing illness, providing moral support, promoting health and wellness, and educating patients and families.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of recent acute Surg Tech experience
- Nationally Certified in Surgical Technology (NBSTSA)
- BLS Certification
- Trauma Experience preferred, not required
- Travel experience preferred, not required
