May oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients. Additionally, Operating Room Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree or in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Operating Room Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
•Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program required.
•Specific knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR), in addition to knowledge of surgical procedures, practices and techniques in providing patient care and assisting surgeons in the O.R.
•Minimum of three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:
•Current BLS certification required.
•Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
