Operating Room Technician jobs in Great Falls, MT

Job Objective: This position scrubs basic and advanced Operating Room procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an approved school of Operating Room Technicians or military trained required.
2. Previous hospital experience with skills in a variety of cases performed preferred.
3. Current HS BLS CPR required.
4. Must possess excellent communication skills to include the ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.
5. Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness required.
6. Must develop and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members and patients. Must work effectively in a team environment.
7. Possess strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task in an ever changing workload environment.
8. Demonstrated ability to use good judgment, apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.

1. *Responsible for the sterility of supplies and the smooth efficient flow of the surgical procedures.
2. *Accurately selects all equipment and supplies needed for surgical cases.
3. *Assists with set up in OR Suite for specific surgeries while accurately following the preference card.
4. *Exhibits an excellent working knowledge of surgical asepsis and recognizes and verbalizes breaks in techniques.
5. *Anticipates the surgeon's needs and reacts accordingly. Efficiently passes the appropriate instrumentation, sutures and supplies to surgeons and/or assistant.
6. *Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking and completing all departmental competencies.
7. *Accurately sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and solutions as needed for procedure.
8. *Exhibits proper usage of surgical drapes to cover patients. Maintains and exhibits highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
9. *Assists as directed in cutting sutures and keeping track of items such as sponges, needles, etc.
10. *Assists with the preparation and disposal of lab specimens as directed. Assists team members with cleaning of room.

Schedule: Client operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
