The Operating Room Technician prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients and ensure sterile field. Assists medical team with preparations for surgical procedures and during the procedure. Being an Operating Room Technician maintains inventory of sterile supplies. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens and delivery to laboratory according to procedures. In addition, Operating Room Technician may assist in patient transport. Requires completion of surgical technologist training course. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Operating Room Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as an Operating Room Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.     Providence is calling a Supply Chain Technician, Operating Room, who will:

    • Be responsible for typical supply chain operations and logistics functions including but not limited to: receiving, distribution, picking, put-away, product delivery and par/point of use replenishment and stocking as well as input of patient charges as directed

    • Be responsible for working with customers within their specific ministry ensuring an effective and streamlined supply chain experience at the local ministry/site for all caregivers they serve

    • Support daily supply chain operations and logistics functions at acute care ministries, medical group clinics, long term care facilities and warehouse operations for their respective ministry

    • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25-50 pounds

    Please note the following important details regarding this role:

    • This position is an onsite role and will report into the hospital daily, as scheduled

    • Work Schedule Includes: Weekends and Weekdays

    • Flexibility to work the following shift hours as scheduled: 7:00 am - 3:30pm, 8am- 4:30 pm and or 9:00am- 5:30pm

    • Combination of education and directly applicable related work experience

    • Relevant experience in a warehouse or storeroom environment recommended, preferably one in which an electronic inventory management system was used

    Preferred qualifications for this position include:

    • Customer Service Experience

    • Medical materials management experience
