Operating Room Technician jobs in Perth Amboy, NJ
The Operating Room Technician prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients and ensure sterile field. Assists medical team with preparations for surgical procedures and during the procedure. Being an Operating Room Technician maintains inventory of sterile supplies. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens and delivery to laboratory according to procedures. In addition, Operating Room Technician may assist in patient transport. Requires completion of surgical technologist training course. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Operating Room Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as an Operating Room Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Patient Care Technician- Operating Room
Responsibilities:
- Help with PACU and Recovery
- The Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) will be responsible for patient care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of a patient's surgical experience
- Duties of the Operating Room Nurse include patient education, circulating and/or scrubbing, and working closely with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and surgical technologists during and after surgical procedures
Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing and lifting. Stress and emotional situations. Exposure to infectious conditions,
combative persons and hazardous materials and/or equipment including x-ray.
- Must wear hospital laundered clothing in the performance of usual duties.
- Flexibility in shift and schedule changes/overtime as needed. Must be available for on-call assignments.
- Constant exposure to blood/body fluids.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- ACLS required
- BLS Required
- Minimum One-year nursing experience preferred
