    THE ROLE

    As the Manager of Event Programming, you will have the opportunity to refine and build the events program within Frost Plaza at The Rock at La Cantera.  You will help define our event strategy and own scaled planning and execution of the program to inspire memorable experiences. You will manage the end-to-end events program and create experiences that exceed our audiences’ expectations, connect with our community, and drive revenue to our onsite businesses. Work with on-site management and serve as a liaison with performers, activations and rental companies and perform other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Sales at The Rock at La Cantera.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Responsible for specific event priorities, including creating re-occurring monthly events and singular events that deliver against stated objectives, establishing timelines, tracking, and reporting, maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
    • Lead and coordinate the planning, and implementation of an annual calendar of public events, pop-ups, and private company culture events.
    • Responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the Ticketmaster platform for all concert and ticketed events.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to establish strategies and objectives for plaza activations.
    • Manage a robust annual event calendar.
    • Work with Marketing Manager to establish marketing budget and promote upcoming events.
    • Collaborate with Director of Sales to maintain a detailed and dynamic budget for public events with aggressive revenue goals and financial forecasts. Specifically concentrating on how to maximize revenue and minimize costs, while maintaining an on-brand experience.
    • Set measurable goals and key performance indicators for public events.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the cultural events landscape, staying informed on local, national, and international event trends.
    • Lead identification of and communication with partners for event sponsorships 
    • Build strong relationships with event partners and vendors in the San Antonio area.
    • Develop partnership with our onsite restaurant, Roca & Martillo, enhancing our ability to feature events which drive revenue to them.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and partners, optimizing value for the client.
    • Monitor event and partnership performance, utilizing data to drive continuous improvement and business growth.
    • Ensure all events and partnerships align with the client’s commitment to safety, security, and a high-quality experience.
    • Serve as the active on and offsite point of contact for all public-facing events.
    • Performs a variety of follow up duties after an event; finalizes evaluation questions and conducts post-event evaluations, prepares financial report and detailed event summary.
    • Ability to understand logistical aspects of concerts to include artist relations, ticket sales and operational setup.
    • Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    QUALIFICATION

    To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University is desirable. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated success in event programming, concert management, and large robust events calendars for public facing events.

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University is preferred.
    • A minimum of (3 - 5) years of experience in event planning and partnership development.
    • Proven record of accomplishment of development and implementation of a multi-year events strategy that has produced year-over-year growth.
    • Knowledge of effective event planning, including program content, timelines, budgets, approvals, milestones, deadlines, logistics, and post-event reporting.
    • Program management and planning skills, with ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple activities.
    • Expertise in planning, leading, and executing two hundred events per year.
    • Collaborator with proven ability to work together within complex organizations and build relationships with external constituencies.
    • Apply project management techniques and best practices to event planning, program development, training development and related functions.
    • Entrepreneurial, purposeful, and able to maintain a sense of grace under pressure.
    • Passion for creating engaging and memorable experiences.
    • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Strong creative, analytical, persuasive, and organizational skills.
