    Position Summary

    Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Director of HR Operations (Senior HR Business Partner) will develop and lead scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations and streamline core processes like recruitment, on-boarding, orientation, hiring, terminations, retirements, timekeeping, payroll and other applicable components of the operational employee lifecycle. Additionally, this role will oversee the HR Operations Team (HR Generalists).

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Supervision, Training & Support for HR Operations Team

    • Lead weekly HR Ops Team meeting

    • Collaborate and coach HR Generalists in weekly 1:1 meetings

    • Performance Management of HR Generalists which include formal quarterly assessments and annual evaluations

    Oversight of Day-to-Day HR Operations

    • Manage the employee life-cycle, with an emphasis on payroll, recruitment, orientation and employee relations
    • Evaluate current processes and procedures and implement changes to enhance the employee experience and support employee retention
    • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
    • Oversee and manage unemployment claims and attend unemployment hearings as necessary.
    • Develop efficient and effective methods of communication to the employee population, collaborating with marketing & communications to assist with methodology and delivery
    • Coach and counsel affiliate leadership team to effectively address employee performance and provide guidance for resolutions
    • Investigate and resolve employee concerns, keeping senior leaders informed throughout the process
    • Continuously assess and enhance HR Operations processes, policies, and procedures to adapt to evolving needs and best practices.
    • Oversee and manage all union and labor activities under the guidance of the Vice President, HR & Managed Services.

    • Ensure that fair employment practices and company policies are applied consistently and fairly; ensure all HR policies are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws/regulations in collaboration with the VP of HR and compliance team.

    • Review staffing levels with Senior Management across all affiliates to maintain budgeted levels of employment

    • Develop and implement creative solutions to recruit and retain talent at all levels within the organization & its affiliates

    Lived/Worked Experience & Educational Alignment

    • Master’s degree in either of the following: Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Legal, Finance or equivalent work or lived experience

    • 5 years of professional, results-driven, extensive HR, administrative and senior leadership experience

    Soft Skills & Technical Alignment

    • In-depth knowledge of management principles and supervisory practices

    • Deep understanding of advancements in HR, public administration and organizational development

    • Ability to coach, train and collaborate with staff across all levels of leadership

    • Ability to streamline processes for ease of access and efficiency

    • Excellent relationship building skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
