Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will help plan and oversee the daily operations of Portage Turf to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Assists in hiring and training new employees.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Helps plan and organize daily activities, production, and operations.
· Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
· Coordinates with team to ensure successful production operations.
· Helps order materials and track inventory.
· Helps determine labor needs to meet production goals.
· Assists with budget preparation for operation.
· Coordinates with marketing and sales departments to determine pricing, timing, and number of sales promotions.
· Assists with, or prepares and updates, organization’s operations manual and policies.
· Operate turf equipment.
· Provides outstanding customer service.
· Communicates professionally with customers and coworkers.
· Help hold regularly scheduled meetings with Technicians including safety and current conditions.
· Assist with routing efficiently with customers’ needs in mind.
· Conduct performance appraisals.
· Guide technicians and customer service representatives on best practices.
· Assist with training and ensure the delivery of the best quality.
· Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
· Extensive knowledge of the turf industry.
· Ability to interpret data as needed to set and track production goals.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Facing Program such as RealGreen.
· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
· Minimum of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
· Five years of experience in lawn care operations.
· Two plus years of management experience.
· Applicator’s license with the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged standing and working in different weather conditions.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
