Job Description Summary:
This position will foster the development of clinical research operation processes and resources for the diverse research portfolio at The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS). They provide support to multiple disciplinary research teams, research leadership, and research support units by establishing standardized operating procedures, training, and resources for clinical trial operations. The Clinical Research Operations Manager is responsible for project-managing clinical research initiatives that align with Research Administration's mission.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in life sciences or related field.
Work Experience :
Experience working in clinical trial operations, medical, laboratory, and/or clinical trial environment to gain knowledge and understanding of clinical trial operations, medical, laboratory, and clinical trial concepts and terminology.
Extensive working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) guidelines and Regulations applicable to study implementation and management.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience :
Project management and training experience.
At least two years clinical research experience.
Skills :
Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical trial operations, medical, laboratory, and clinical trial concepts and terminology.
Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities and meet deadlines.
Work within a team approach and be motivated to work consistently in a fast-paced, "customer-focused" environment.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Skilled in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
Job Duties Outlined
In conjunction with the Director and in coordination with TUKHS, develops and implements policies, procedures, systems and practices which comply with applicable compliance and legal requirements and KUMC and TUKHS policies and procedures.
Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including external sponsors, the KUMC Research Administration and study teams to develop resources and training for clinical research operations.
Lead and facilitate clinical research strategic initiatives. Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, resourcing, issues, critical milestones, and actions necessary to ensure success.
In coordination with Research Training and Communication team and key stakeholders, develop and maintain the Clinical Research Roadmap website and supporting content.
Develop and administer clinical research operations training, including Clinical Research Foundations, regulatory training, research, and clinical skill competencies.
Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
