About The Role
The Operations Finance Analyst will ensure daily operations are in compliance with company policies and accounting records are maintained in conformity with US GAAP. This role will act as a subject matter expert who partners with our local warehouse in Fort Mill, South Carolina to analyze financial data, identify business trends, recommend improvements and help us mitigate risks.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for operations, logistics, and inventory, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile all operational accounts, including inventory, cost of goods sold, and logistics expenses.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecasts, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key trends and insights related to operational performance.
- Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditors' inquiries.
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement procedures for inventory valuation, costing, and control.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyze inventory turn ratios.
- Collaborate with the operations and purchasing teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Operational & Logistics Finance:
- Oversee the financial aspects of logistics operations, including transportation costs, warehousing expenses, and freight charges.
- Analyze the cost-effectiveness of various logistics options and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
- Work with the operations and logistics teams to develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes for operational and logistics expenses.
- Identify and manage financial risks associated with operations and logistics activities.
Process Improvement and Automation:
- Continuously review and improve financial processes related to operations, logistics, and inventory to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and implement opportunities for automation to streamline financial tasks.
- Develop and maintain documentation for financial processes and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other departments, such as Operations, Logistics, and Purchasing, to ensure alignment with financial goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of related cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or textiles business
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction
- Actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement
- Strong communication including group facilitation and presentation skills
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Must be adaptable in responding quickly and positively to growth of the business
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; demonstrated influence and excellent communication style
