    SUMMARY: The CRC Operations Manager is in a leadership role in the CRC program as a member of the CRC COPS (Clinical, Operations, Program, Spiritual) Team. In direct partnership with the Medical Manager and the Program Manager develops, implements and oversees the operational and treatment milieu of each cottage.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Job-specific essential functions include the following:

    • TEAM FIRST: Makes every effort to maintain a 'team first' spirit and atmosphere within the workplace environment, maintaining appropriate working relationships and promoting collaboration.
    • Supervises and oversees the daily staff schedule ensuring adherence to staff to youth ratio. Tracks staff preferences and performance regarding schedules to accommodate staff skill set and schedule desires.
    • Maintains weekly group supervision and monthly individual supervision with all shift supervisors to ensure job development, address performance issues and to complete yearly evaluations.
    • Attends cottage Weekly Program Review Meetings to ensure consistency and follow through with programs for each cottage.
    • In conjunction with Human Resources, performs onsite interviews with candidates for all cottage positions. Works with CRC leadership and HR with respect to decision-making regarding hiring and employee relations for CRC.
    • In conjunction with the Program Manager, CRC Director of Residential and the CRC Medical Manager, the CRC Operations Manager is responsible for the tone and operation of each cottage. This includes adhering to the clinical and milieu programming and curriculum, maintaining a trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive environment, and being a Christian leader for the CRC campus and setting the spiritual tone for the kids and staff.
    • Oversees and ensures staff to resident ratio as related to off grounds transportation. Assists with coordinating transportation for medical needs when requested by Medical Team.
    • Works in conjunction with the Shift Supervisor ensuring all kids are receiving services and supervised throughout daily activities and school refusals.
    • With staff, provides positive feedback and redirection regarding staff development and compliance with the Status Program, Program Structure, Integrated Guidance Plans, and Treatment Plans.
    • Observes staff's work ethic and communication with kids and each other, facilitates mediation if needed to resolve conflicts in the cottage with kids and/or staff, checks cottage paperwork/documentation daily to ensure it is done correctly and efficiently. Inspects cottage ensuring that sanitary/safety needs are met.
    • Attends all required trainings for the CRC Operations Manager position and maintains any credentials needed as a departmental trainer or instructor. (Ex. SCM, CPR, TBRI etc.) Provides training to staff, along with cross training to clinical staff in regard to milieu programming.
    • Support and work with Program Manager, Medical Manager and Clinical Team to ensure productivity standards are being met for each cottage.
    • Collaborates with first team: Operations Manager, Program Manager, Director of Residential, and Medical Manager, meeting weekly to ensure continuity of services, documenting the meeting, and sending to HR for tracking purposes.
    • Provides on call coverage one 2 weeks out of every 4 weeks to campus. This involves being available for shift supervisors on duty to consult with operational manager regarding behavior interventions, campus interventions, hospitalizations, staff coverage, and police involvement.
    • Reviews intake/referrals and admits into appropriate cottage programming and oversees or is involved with engagement reviews and discharge discussions, as needed or assigned. This involves conducting client interviews as needed.
    • Engages in recruiting opportunities for Safe Harbor Ohio such as attending job fairs and engaging in presentations at appropriate venues (colleges, etc.).
    • Supervises Dietary Manager and CRC food program. Provides Dietary Manager with 1 individual supervision a month and 1 group supervision.
    • Takes minutes for CRC Leadership meeting and sends to HR once completed.
    • Leads team building with CRC operational staff to increase connectedness and staff engagement.
    • Leads/supports the CRC Pulse Committee which exists to advocate for needs of operational staff.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct supervision of the Dietary Manager and Shift Supervisors, as well as general oversight of campus operational staff. Provide leadership throughout campus in support of clinical and operational staff. Will work in conjunction with the Director Residential, CRC Clinical leadership, and Program Manager to ensure overall safety, accountability, structure and tone of the campus.

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining workflow, assessing work performance of employees, ensuring that business goals, deadlines, and standards are met, training and onboarding new employees, setting goals for staff, interviewing, and hiring, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

    Ensures that Safe Harbor vision and direction are communicated on a level that allows every employee to understand their ownership in the success of the agency and that they are a valued member of the organization.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to read, comprehend and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate before groups of varying sizes of customers or employees of the organization.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, required. Must be able to communicate well with colleagues, verbally and in writing to ensure safety and efficiency.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to apply common sense. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the internet, including social media. Ability to use/learn electronic health record system preferred.
    • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, as well as cope and tolerate high levels of stress.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with children from hard places required. Previous supervisory experience required, strong preference for supervisory experience in a children's residential treatment facility.
    • Valid Ohio Driver's License and a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable on agency policy, as job includes occasional travel.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear, including a requirement to stand or walk for extended periods of time, sometimes through uneven terrain.
    • Often required to use hands/fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Regularly able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time.

    • Must be able to drive a vehicle legally and safely in the state of Ohio.
    • Must maintain compliance/certification with CCHO/Safe Harbor's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis, including, but not limited to running and performing physical restraints.
