We are currently seeking a Section Manager - Civil/Structural to join our Power - Electric Transmission & Substations Team in Reading, PA.

CHA’s experts have decades of experience planning, designing, and permitting electrical power delivery infrastructure, including overhead and underground transmission lines and substations. We’ve designed hundreds of transmission, distribution, and customer-owned substations and switching stations (15kV up to 300 MVA transmission stations). We’ve also designed mobile transformers and substations up to 25 MVA and 161kV.
The Section Manager – Civil/Structural, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within their discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. Additionally, they are responsible for the planning, scheduling, conduction, and coordination of detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. The Section Manager – Civil/Structural position provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. They provide technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.).
The Section Manager – Civil/Structural role resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.
