    Job Functions / Responsibilities

    Manage the activities of the Powertrain Department on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for design and implementation of new powertrain components to achieve compliance, improve performance, increase reliability and lower cost of operation. Role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and meet customer requirements. Leads initiatives that support Kenworth goals, including engineering excellence metrics, cost reduction, warranty reduction, and six sigma savings. Responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring and developing individuals at the supervisor and engineer level, as well as, performance reviews of direct reports. Develop and administer engineering department operational procedures, including ISO, engineering documentation, department procedures, etc. Develop a collaborative work environment within the department and across Kenwroth and PACCAR divisions. Work with other Kenworth and PACCAR business groups to support and actively pursue continuous improvement of Kenworth product development and implementation processes. Other Duties as assigned.


    Qualifications & Skills

    • BSME/BSEE required
    • MS/MBA strongly preferred
    • PE strongly preferred
    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus
    • 7 years of applicable experience, previous supervisor experience preferred
    • Broad range of PACCAR experience highly desirable.
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
    • Overall product knowledge required; ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.

    Travel up to 25%.

The salary range for Engineering Section Manager is $104,00-$182,500 annually. This position is also eligible for 25% IC.
