Summary: Bank Operations Specialists work as a team to support the various functions assigned to the Bank Operations Department. Specialists collaborate in an effort to cross-train in all functions to effectively manage the department’s workflow while providing effective superior customer service and support in conformance with established policies, procedures, regulations, banking laws and bank risk and compliance standards.

Essential Functions: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Data Entry
  • Key, correct, and accurate proof and balancing of image captured items of over-the counter-teller transactions and internal transactions
  • Key, correct, and accurate proof and balancing of incoming check files received electronically from corresponding banks
  • Prepare transaction correction records as needed
  • Compare and reconcile totals for end-of-day electronic file processing, followed by
  • Command steps for final transmission of all images and data received

• Transactional
  • ACH; file processing, returns/error resolutions, and reclamations.
  • Wire Processing; verification, importing & exporting of wires
  • Exception Item Processing: NSF items, Stop Payments, Unposted Transactions, Large Item Review
  • Check posting adjustments and other deposit account issues, inquires, and concerns
  • Canadian and Foreign check processing
  • Mobile Deposit Review
  • Process Lock Box Transactions
• ATM Debit Cards
  • New card orders
  • Maintenance
  • Error Resolutions

• Time Deposits
  • Performs duties relating to Certificate of Deposits, such as verification, monitoring, and maintenance as needed to new and existing accounts

• Reports and Documents

• Review and archival of numerous reports and documents involving account activity, account maintenance, as well as the monitoring of internal controls for policies and procedures.

• Account Maintenance

• Involving stop payment review, name and address changes, title changes, account type changes, dormant account updates, safe deposit box accounts, relationship codes, and general maintenance of deposit accounts

• Mail
  • Sort interoffice mail and documents
  • Sort incoming bank mail and distributes to various departments
  • Operates mail machine for outgoing bank mail
  • Operates folder/inserter for folding and inserting of outgoing bank notices and letters into envelopes for mailing

• Misc. Responsibilities
  • Numerous daily, weekly and monthly Internal Bank Account reconcilements
  • IRS Tax Levies
  • Overdraft protection program, reminder letters, handling of overdrawn accounts

Education: A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. A minimum of one year of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
