  • The Operations Manager is a senior operations staff level position and will be considered a key influencer within the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a culture of safety and quality first and will manage their expenses within budget and focus on sustaining profitable growth across all aspects of their operations. The Operations Manager will be expected to have a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles and will be a champion for and leader of continuous improvements within the factory. This position is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of managers across several departments and will oversee the day-to-day manufacturing of quality products that are delivered on-time to customer request dates and within budget. In addition, this position is accountable for achieving or exceeding operational KPI’s across the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment that is compliant with all OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines. Directly responsible for manufacturing in a timely manner according to customer request dates. Accountable for providing accurate revenue forecasts and the development of the operations plan and execution required for delivering on those forecasts. This position is responsible for maintaining all quality requirements associated with multiple product lines with varying volumes in a high/low mix, short cycle environment. Operations Management: Responsible for operating within all budgets. Partner with the supply chain department for maintaining minimal inventory levels via a Kanban system to support customer requirements. This role will be accountable for achieving operating performance targets and driving improvements in cost, cycle time, and overall lead time reductions. Associate Development: Responsible for developing the team in a manner which meets the future needs of the organization and annually preparing an HR plan to identify key influencers, areas of organizational and individual development, and succession planning. Motivation and development of the operations management team; encourage optimum productivity while advising leaders on policy administration of company procedures with accuracy and confidence. Supply Chain: Partner with the appropriate members of the supply chain team to drive down cost through VAVE activity. Manufacturing Engineering, Quality & Maintenance: Responsible for working with the department managers to determine where resources should be assigned based on safety, customer need, or cost reduction efforts. Responsible for fostering a collaborative team culture with the support organizations. Requirements Critical Competencies Aligning tactics to strategy in planning and harmony with organizational culture. Promoting and bringing about change. Demonstrated experience with operations daily management, process development and organizational development experience in a Lean/Pull operations environment. Excellent communication and instruction skills. Familiarity with various technical manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a Senior Leadership perspective. Demonstrated aptitude in organization development through a combination of effective talent planning and associate development. Be a champion for and driver of open employee communications. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree, required 5 years of manufacturing management experience 5 years of experience in a high production environment 5 years of experience with utilizing lean methodology and tools to improve operations.
