Operations Unit Manager manages the daily activities of an operations unit. Responsible for planning and directing budgets, goals, and business objectives. Being an Operations Unit Manager requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent or in a related area. Typically reports to a senior manager. The Operations Unit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Operations Unit Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Unit ManagerResponsibilities:

      • Supervision of Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
      • Ensure appropriate staffing
      • Frequent rounding throughout the unit
      • Support and assist unit nurses with Admissions and Emergency Transfers as needed
      • Completion of shift report
      • Communicating with physicians, family members and team members
      • Ongoing assessment of patients, and timely response to their needs
      • Serve as point person in the absence of the Director of Nursing
      • Long Term Care Supervisory experience preferred
