Only skilled or Certified ophthalmic assistants will be considered .

On the job training and educational materials will be provided for qualified candidates as we encourage becoming a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant!

Pay is based on years of experience and skill level.

Candidates should have no less than 6 months experience performing ophthalmic assistant duties, the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment, and enjoy patient advocacy, and team work. Professionalism and efficient multi-tasking capabilities, empathy and compassion for patients, as well as exceptional intrapersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities include:

Accurately and efficiently performing/obtaining:

• chief complaint, history of present illness,
• visual acuity
• neutralization of glasses prescription
• manifest refraction
• assessment of pupils, confrontation fields, and anterior chamber depth
• scribing
• A-scans
• visual field, fundus photography, OCT, topography, and pachymetry testing,
• applanation and tonopen tonometry
• assisting in minor in office surgeries, sterilization of surgical instruments
