Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. POSITION SUMMARY
Our Technicians are an integral part of our Maintenance crews, with skill levels ranging from entry level to foreman-in-training. The goal of our RCL crews is to create and maintain beautiful landscapes. Tasks will vary depending on the department. During the green season, a typical work week requires 40-55 hours, some Saturdays as needed, with the work day starting at 6:30 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. depending on the department. During the snow season, on-call hours will vary. Working conditions vary by the job site. Crews of 2-3 people work together to create some of the most beautiful properties in the area. This position is full time, seasonal.
