Ophthalmic Technician jobs in Spokane, WA

Are you outgoing, self-driven, personable and detail-oriented? Can you work on your feet all day, and cheerfully converse with patients? If so, this may be the position for you. Experience is preferred; however, with a great attitude and willingness to learn, we will train the right candidate with our in-house training program. Salary adjusted based on experience.

Duties include:

• demonstrating effective communication skills contributing to a positive experience for patients and employees
• maintaining a professional and friendly workplace
• greeting and rooming patients
• completing a thorough patient work-up including:
• collecting medical history, medications & allergies
• performing vision assessments
• documenting the patient’s chief complaint
• checking patient’s eye pressure
• performing diagnostic tests ordered by the doctor

• performing scribe duties while the doctor examines the patient
• documenting findings the provider observes during the exam
• recording proper diagnosis and treatment plans per the doctor
• assisting the doctor in sending in prescriptions
• scheduling patients
• assisting with in-office procedures and lasers

• maintaining a clean and safe patient environment
• cleaning and restocking exam rooms
• sterilizing medical instruments
• calibrating and maintaining diagnostic machines
