Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician/ Optician Assistant to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and fashion preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments to enhance visual clarity and protect against UV rays
- Adjust frames to ensure comfort and proper alignment
- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role (at least 1 year)
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and optical systems
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations (Experience with Crystal PM a plus)
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products and services
- Proficiency in retail math calculations for pricing and discounts
